2nd Grade 3-Dimensional Water Lilies
In this lesson, students created three-dimensional waterlilies inspired by Claude Monet’s famous garden in Giverny, France. The students were introduced to the concept of impressionism in an age-appropriate way and shared key facts about Monet’s life and artistic legacy. Students explored how artists can be inspired by the work of others and learned to transform two-dimensional inspiration into three-dimensional artwork. This hands-on activity helped students understand the impact of influential artists like Monet and encouraged them to see how art evolves and inspires across generations.
